A beautifully toned stater from Olympia pedigreed to 1909

ELIS. Olympia. 82nd Olympiad, 452 BC. Stater (Silver, 26 mm, 11.82 g, 11 h). Eagle flying right with wings above and below, grasping a coiling snake with his beak. Rev. F-A Thunderbolt with wings above and volutes below; all within round incuse. BCD Olympia 28 (this coin). Seltman 43b and pl. 4, αζ (this coin, AF/αζ). Beautifully toned and with an illustrious pedigree. Several banker's marks on the obverse, otherwise, about very fine.
